It was obviously tough negotiations. But now, according to a media report, one thing is certain: the electronics trade fair IFA will remain in the capital.
According to a media report, the future of the electronics fair IFA in Berlin is secured. According to information from the “Berliner Morgenpost”, the rights holder GFU, the event company Clarion and Messe Berlin have agreed on a new ten-year contract. This should apply from September 2023, it said. Then the next radio exhibition (IFA) is planned, which was founded in Berlin in 1924.
The supervisory board of Messe Berlin was informed about the contract and the conditions this week, writes the newspaper (Thursday). The committee must give the green light for further cooperation. It is considered certain that it does so. The cooperation can be terminated by both parties after five years, the newspaper writes, citing information from supervisory board circles.
After a three-year break, the IFA returned this year. When it was held again last September, more than 161,000 people visited the electronics trade fair.
