More is more – is the motto of this fashion summer. Dresses in particular are a lot more pompous than last season.
May it be a little bit more? Anyone who answers this question with a yes in terms of fashion will love the summer of 2022. Because this season the designers have treated their creations to a little more fabric. Whether flounces, puff sleeves or tulle lengths – the summer of dresses will be lush but airy.
The designer Cecilie Bahnsen makes real girls’ dreams come true. Her pieces always have a statement character, which in 2022 is remotely reminiscent of the outfit from “Alice in Wonderland”. Two years ago she sent her models down the catwalk at the Copenhagen Fashion Week in XXL puff sleeves and flounced skirts. In addition, she combined rough boots instead of high heels.
They are of little use for the summer of 2022, because after all we want to feel light and airy in clothes and not clumsy. All the better that the current creations are kept in delicate pastel tones. Special applications give the summer look that certain something.
For Giambattista Valli, too, restraint is an option this season – and in no other season either. The Roman fashion designer combined puffed sleeves with wide mullet cuts and tulle petticoats. Of course, these bright red models are not really suitable for everyday use, elegant anyway.
Styling rules for statement dresses
For a more subtle styling, we recommend models that focus on one part of the dress. So if you have discovered puff sleeves for yourself, you should make sure that the skirt is kept rather simple. If the tulle skirt screams “I’m here”, the top should be rather quiet. Either way, the statement dresses create a wow effect.
Most recently, you saw Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden (44), who visibly felt comfortable in a floral puff sleeve dress. The eye-catcher of the high-necked midi dress was a black waist belt, the color of which she picked up again with her elegant pumps and a simple clutch. Golden creoles completed the outfit. The crown princess styled her brunette hair in a high bun. A summery look is ready.
