With “1932” the stars Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford dive into the “Yellowstone” world – all about the dramas of the Dutton family.
The Dutton family is growing. Helen Mirren (76) and Harrison Ford (79) make their debut in the “Yellowstone” world. The two Hollywood stars are in the new spin-off “1932” of the drama series. This was announced by the streaming provider Paramount on Twitter on Tuesday.
“New generation of the Dutton family”
According to the announcement, Mirren and Ford will “introduce a new generation of the Dutton family,” specifically those of the early 20th century. Paramount is also promoting the prequel as the “Yellowstone Origin Story”.
That’s what the spin-off is about
Too many details besides the working title “1932” have not yet been announced. According to a statement from The Wrap, the series is set to premiere in December 2022.
Well-known stars were also on board in the “Yellowstone” prequel “1883” by Taylor Sheridan (51), which has been available since February of this year. Singer Faith Hill (54) can be seen alongside country singer Tim McGraw (55).
The successful original series “Yellowstone” is already in its fifth season. As in both prequels, the central theme of the neo-western is the Dutton family and the people who live with them on the ranch in Montana.
Ford as a series star
For Ford, the role means a hitherto rare journey into the world of television productions. So far he has only acted as a guest star in series. Recently, however, the news circulated that he would also play a leading role alongside Jason Segel in the Apple series “Shrinking” by the creators of “Ted Lasso”.
In addition to the screen, Helen Mirren is also successful as a theater actress. The 76-year-old won an Oscar in 2007 for Best Actress for her role as Elizabeth II in The Queen.
