Actor and director Til Schweiger is about to open a 60-room hotel on the popular holiday island of Mallorca. It is said to belong to Schweiger’s Barefoot brand.

Til Schweiger has loved the island for many years and immediately fell in love with the hotel right on the idyllic port of Portocolom, the message said. “The new Barefoot Hotel fits perfectly with my idea of a casual hotel in the best location,” Schweiger was quoted as saying. Alexander Winter, managing partner of Arcona, called the house a “lucky stroke”.

According to the announcement, there are eleven room categories to choose from – from the “comfortable double room” to the “luxurious suite”. “An absolute special feature” are the “private roof terraces with jacuzzi and sea view” that can be booked. The hotel also has a spa with sauna, hammam and relaxation pools.
Under the Barefoot label, the busy businessman Schweiger not only produces films, but also markets clothing and home accessories. As an Arcona spokeswoman said, there is currently one barefoot hotel in South Africa. In addition to the Mallorcan hotel, another one at Tegernsee is currently being planned.
