Duchess Kate (40) sets a fashionable exclamation mark again. She appeared in a yellow Emilia Wickstead coat dress at London’s St Paul’s Cathedral. Together with husband Prince William (39) and other high-ranking royals, she attended a thanksgiving service there on Friday (June 3). The ceremony is part of the celebrations of Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee (96).
The Duchess of Cambridge appeared outside the church alongside her husband. Unlike Thursday’s “Trooping the Color” parade, the couple’s three children, Prince George, 8, Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince Louis, 4, stayed at home this time.
The 40-year-old combined the long-sleeved, calf-length dress with ruffles at the waist with a hat by Philip Treacy, also in yellow, with floral decorations. She also wore pointed pumps in light brown. Kate chose drop earrings as accessories.
The Queen is not there
Princess Anne (71), Prince Charles (73) and Duchess Camilla (74) as well as Prince Harry (37) and Duchess Meghan (40) also took part in the service. Also present were Queen’s granddaughter Zara Tindall (41) and her husband Mike (43) and Prince Edward (58) with wife Sophie (57) and children Lady Louise Windsor (18) and James, Viscount Severn (14). Princesses Beatrice (33) and Eugenie (32) appeared along with their husbands Jack Brooksbank (36) and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi (38). Prince Andrew (62) is missing due to a corona infection.
The Queen herself stayed in Windsor, as the palace had already announced after “Trooping the Color”: The Queen enjoyed Thursday’s birthday parade in the capital very much, but she “felt a little uncomfortable,” said the royal family. In view of the effort involved in traveling to attend the service, Elizabeth II “decided with great reluctance that she would not attend.”
