The US icon received a lot of applause and encouragement in the comments for her contribution. “I love it! The Republican wimp party,” says a user. Another person “laughed out loud for ten minutes”. The tweet now has around 250,000 likes and has been shared almost 40,000 times.
Stars are shocked
Midler isn’t the only celebrity railing against the US Supreme Court’s decision. Halle Berry (55) wrote on social media that she was “shocked” and considered what the Supreme Court did to be “bullshit”: “Guns have more rights than women.”
US President Joe Biden (79), Barack Obama (60) and his wife Michelle (58), actress Viola Davis (56) and singer Taylor Swift (32) were also critical.
