Bill Cosby has to appear in court again. A woman accuses him of sexually abusing her.

Bill Cosby (84) has been at large for almost a year and is now being tried again. The 84-year-old is on trial for alleged sexual abuse in a civil lawsuit in Los Angeles, as reported by the Guardian, among others. The jury selection started this week. A woman has accused the actor of sexually abusing her in 1975 when she was 16 and he was 37. She filed the lawsuit in 2014, but her case was delayed because of another criminal case against Cosby.

In 2018 he was found guilty of drugging and sexually abusing a woman in 2004. The actor had denied the allegations. More than 60 women had also raised similar allegations against him. However, the judgment was overturned in 2021 due to a procedural error. As a result, Cosby was released from prison in June after two years.

What is the current court case about?

In the current court case, a woman accuses Cosby of sexually assaulting her in 1975 in the Playboy mansion. The villa in Los Angeles was once occupied by “Playboy” founder Hugh Hefner (1926-2017) and has been the setting for numerous films and television series.

Bill Cosby, who became a superstar on The Cosby Show in the 1980s and 1990s, confirms the meeting but denies the allegations of assault. He also denies that the woman was a minor. The process is expected to take two weeks.
