Previously, tenants had to pay the climate tax on their own. Now there is a draft law on how landlords should participate – what does that mean for tenants?
A shared price is half the price – this is the motto that will be used in the future for the CO2 tax. Instead of just burdening the tenants with it, in future landlords will also be held accountable – at least under certain conditions. A draft law on this was passed by the federal government today and is now being voted on in the Bundestag. The law should then apply on January 1, 2023.
