It is not the first time that Daniel Hartwich is absent as moderator this season of “Let’s Dance”. It has already been decided who will stand in for him in the final.

Never before have there been so many breaks due to illness on “Let’s Dance”. This was of course due to the corona pandemic and the increasing number of cases in recent months.

“Let’s Dance”: Daniel Hartwich is absent due to illness

Just a few weeks ago, Daniel Hartwich also dropped out because he was infected with the corona virus. After his recovery, he returned to the dance floor as a moderator, but as RTL confirmed, Hartwich will miss the final on Friday evening. Again due to illness, but in this case it is obviously not Corona.

Hartwich will be replaced – as during his quarantine period – by Jan Köppen. He will lead through the evening alongside Victoria Swarovski and ultimately award the title “Dancing Star 2022”. The three finalist pairs are: Janin Ullmann and Zsolt Sándor Cseke, René Casselly and Kathrin Menzinger, and Mathias Mester and Renata Lusin. Each of the couples dances three different dances, a jury dance, a favorite dance and a freestyle.

Dance show before challenges

No other television program was so shaken by the pandemic this year. One after the other became infected, starting with juror Joachim Llambi, who missed the first live show this year. The production had to find a replacement almost every week, and in the case of Llambi, last year’s winner Rúrik Gíslason stepped in.

At the time, quite a few fans on social networks wished the show would pause for a week or two. They complained that there was no equal opportunity with the many failures.

In addition to the finalists, the celebrities who tried their hand at dancing this year were: presenter Amira Pocher, model Cheyenne Ochsenknecht, singer Michelle, actor Hardy Krüger Jr., comedian Bastian Bielendorfer, musician Mike Singer, princess and entrepreneur Lilly zu Sayn-Wittgenstein -Berleburg, Sky moderator Riccardo Basile, author Caroline Bosbach, actress Sarah Mangione and her colleague Timur Ülker.
