Dungarees are making a comeback! The former worker trousers are now considered a casual it-piece. Here’s how to style them properly.

Dungarees originally served as workwear for craftsmen and farmers before becoming a fashion symbol of the women’s movement in the 1970s. Princess Diana (1961-1997) wore them regularly in different colors in the 1980s, Meryl Streep (73) caused dungarees nostalgia in 2008 as Donna in “Mamma Mia”. Dungarees are making a comeback – this is how you style them properly.

Tight-fitting white tops such as tops, such as those worn by model Josephine Skriver (29) or actress Blake Lively (34), are particularly popular among dungarees. Flat sneakers or heeled boots are particularly casual. Model Heidi Klum (49) styles her strikingly embroidered denim dungarees with a tight white blouse and white stilettos.

Not just blue denim

However, the dungarees do not necessarily have to be made of blue denim fabric. Influencer Marlies Pia Pfeifhofer wears beige suede dungarees and combines them with a white flounce blouse and Vans. Influencer Pernille Teisbaek (37) loves her striped dungarees and wears black sandals and a loose gray T-shirt.

Dungarees are also short!

Carlota Weber Mazuecos (27) shows that dungarees are not just long. She styles her short white denim dungarees with Vans, light blue socks and an oversized shirt.
