For the first time since the verdict in Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard’s trial, Heard’s sister Whitney Henriquez has spoken publicly on social media about the outcome of the trial and pledged her continued support.

Whitney Henriquez testified at her older sister’s trial. She told the court that Depp hit her once in the past and called her a “whore”. A jury in Fairfax, Virginia, ruled in favor of Depp last week after a seven-week trial on defamation charges. The verdict: Heard has to pay her ex-husband $8.35 million for writing in a 2018 Washington Post op-ed that she was a victim of domestic violence.

Since the verdict, the actress’ sister has remained silent until now. On the social media platform Instagram, she published the hashtag in large white letters

“No one will ever give up on you,” Amber Heard’s sister wrote on Instagram

It seems to have been clear to the two Heard sisters that the road to court, having to unpack every detail of a broken marriage, would not be easy. Henriquez confirmed that in her post: “We knew this was going to be a tough fight and that we had few chances. But you stood up anyway and spoke up. I’m so honored to testify for you I should and I would do it again a million times because I know what I saw and because the truth is forever on your side. I’m so sorry that wasn’t reflected in the jury’s decision, but I will never give up on you, and no one who stands by you will. Forever by your side…”
