The film “Law of Vengeance” became a box office hit in 2009. A sequel is apparently planned.

The US revenge thriller “Law of Vengeance” (2009) is apparently getting a sequel. As the industry magazine “Deadline” reports, producer Lucas Foster and screenwriter Kurt Wimmer (58) take on the story again. Hollywood star Gerard Butler (52), who also played a leading role in the first part, and Alan Siegel are said to be working as producers again. Further details of the sequel are not known.

“Law of Revenge” still popular today

Rivulet Films’ Rob Paris and Mike Witherill are also on board as producers. Forster explained that he could hardly wait to work together. He looks forward to “reviving these great characters and this compelling theme that seems even more relevant today than it was when we made the original film.” According to Paris and Witherill, the demand for intelligent action thrillers is palpable. “And this is one of those rare, untapped franchise opportunities that’s too good to pass up.”

“Law of Vengeance” grossed $127 million worldwide in 2009. The strip is still popular today, and in 2021 it was one of the three most-watched films on Netflix.

That’s what the movie is about

After his family’s killer is not put behind bars, Clyde Shelton (Gerard Butler) takes revenge into his own hands. But not only the perpetrator, but also the entire justice system in Philadelphia come into his crosshairs. Jamie Foxx, 54, also stars as Assistant District Attorney Nick Rice. Directed by F. Gary Gray (52).
