Lluís Homar is the only actor on the stage and gives life to the three characters of the text written by Philippe Claudel : mr. Linh, his friend mr. Bark, and the narrator. This last character is important for understanding the plot because the lord Linh does not speak the language of the host country and have difficulty communicating with the lord Bark.

“The net of the senyor Linh is a show about communication, about friendship and about the imagination, because the strength of the protagonist resides in your imagination, that allows it to survive in a strange world”, according to the director. Homar added that mr. Linh is an elderly man from probably of Vietnam, who travels with his granddaughter small and in a strange country, “so it could be presented as a victim”. “However, it does not feel a victim or complains, but look at the positive side, attempts to communicate and with a smile is able to say many things,” he clarified.

The text was released originally in flemish, and had then been represented in French and English, before being translated into Catalan. “Each version is different -clarified Cassiers-because each new assembly is adapted to the language, the culture and the personality of the actor who plays”.

“For me” – he continued – this piece is a european project that addresses one of the main challenges of Europe and seeks to reformulate the dialog between the different european countries on a subject that affects us all”. “There are many Europes, but the problem is common,” added Salvador Sunyer, director of the festival High Season, which co-produces the show along with the Teatre Lliure and has scheduled three dates in The Channel of Salt (Girona).

Homar has also stressed the european nature of the work and recalled that his first contact with the piece was in Antwerp, where he met the actors playing the different versions of the same piece. Cassiers has highlighted the importance of the actor in this piece, because “not only conveys the text, but that creates images in the scene and, somehow, is the director on the stage”.

The work plays with audio-visual resources and combines words, images, music, sound, and projections, so that the actor “is interpreted to the public, the worse it is also directed to the camera”. In this sense considers very useful “intelligence stage” Homar, “their proximity and their experience, both in cinema and theatre”. “It is a pleasure to be inside of a work like this, where nothing is white or black, and has the capacity to nourish the soul,” he concluded Homar.
