In 2019, were sold in Russia 80 700 new freight cars, which is 2% lower than a year earlier, reported the Agency “AUTOSTAT” on January 14. Prior to that, the market has grown for three consecutive years.
Despite the overall decline in demand, last year the largest Russian manufacturers managed to increase sales. The market leader of “KAMAZ” (34,2%) sold 27 600 trucks (growth by 7.3%), and GAS– 8900 (+5,9%).
Foreign trucks within the top five best-selling, to increase sales has failed: the Volvo, they decreased by 11% and amounted to 5700 pieces, Scania – 5600 (-16%) and MAN – 5000 (-1,5%).
