Metallica dedicated a TikTok to Eddie Munson from “Stranger Things”. The short clip is now going viral on the platform.
Thanks to Stranger Things, Metallica’s song “Master of Puppets” is back on the US and UK charts. In one scene from the series, Eddie Munson, played by Joseph Quinn (28), picks up the guitar and rocks to the metal hit. On Saturday (July 9), the band responded to the success with a TikTok. Metallica recorded what they called a “duet” with Eddie and, dressed in “Stranger Things” merchandise, played to their own song. “This is for you, Eddie,” reads the description.
The fans seem to love the TikTok. The clip now has over seven million views and more than 1.7 million likes.
“Stranger Things” turns 80s songs into hits
However, “Master of Puppets” isn’t the only song to become a hit again thanks to the Netflix series. In the first part of the fourth season, which was released in June, Kate Bush’s (63) song “Running Up That Hill” plays a special role. The song quickly became a TikTok trend and then stormed the charts worldwide – in the UK, the song even made it to number one in the singles chart, 37 years after its original release.
