The Berlin singer Schmyt has been delighting fans and critics with his romantic R for two years
It’s not even two years since the singer, songwriter and producer Julian Schmit made his big breakthrough. With a penchant for dark poetry, he processes strokes of fate and lost love affairs under his pseudonym Schmyt. The sound is reminiscent of his musical role model Frank Ocean and oscillates between piano ballads and the changeable beats of the arrest warrant producer Bazzazian. Despite high streaming numbers and joint appearances with a number of big names in the scene, little is known about his personal career so far. No wonder Schmyt describes himself as “Nobody” in what is probably his most successful song.
