According to media reports, US series star Jerry Harris (“Cheer”) has been sentenced to twelve years in prison for sexual offenses against minors.
The 22-year-old is said to have persuaded a 17-year-old to send him sexually explicit photos for money, several US media reported after a Chicago court decision. He is also said to have traveled to Florida to engage in “illicit sexual activity” with a 15-year-old.
Harris, who became known through the Netflix docuseries “Cheer”, was arrested by the FBI in September 2020 on suspicion of creating child pornographic content. The indictment was made in December. The actor was originally charged with seven offences, but after pleading guilty to two counts in February 2022, the remaining charges were dropped. After his sentence, he is to remain under judicial supervision for eight years.
