The campus, which costs around 150 million euros, is to form the heart of German football in the future. The national team will use the area for the first time in September in preparation for the final Nations League games against Hungary and England. “We’re looking forward to it,” said Flick.
According to DFB director Oliver Bierhoff, all selection teams will benefit from the new opportunities. «The scientific part of the academy is enormously important. What we observe here will make working with the team better, but we will also make it available to the entire football system,” said the 54-year-old. “There is no association in the world that agrees and brings it together – working with top athletes, experts and clubs.”
