Incident at the Cannes Film Festival. An unidentified protester stormed the red carpet half-naked.

Unannounced protest action at the Cannes Film Festival: On Friday (May 20) the premiere of the new film “Three Thousand Years of Longing” with Idris Elba (49) and Tilda Swinton (61) took place. An incident occurred on the red carpet of the event. A protester ran shirtless into the crowd. On her chest was the Ukrainian flag, which read: “Stop raping us.” The stranger also wore underpants smeared with blood-red paint.

However, the action did not last long. The demonstrator was led away by security after a short time. With her message, the woman probably wanted to draw attention to reports of sexual assaults by Russian soldiers on Ukrainian women.

Human rights organizations had previously spoken of the Russian army using rape as a “weapon of war” in Ukraine.

President Selenskyj speaks to Cannes guests

In view of the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine, the organizers of the film festival decided to exclude Russian delegations from the event this year. On Tuesday (May 17) the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj (44) was connected via video and caused thunderous applause from those present at the festival. “We will keep fighting. We have no choice but to keep fighting for our freedom,” the 44-year-old reportedly said, according to Variety.
