An employee of a nursing service found the 85-year-old wife and their son dead in the apartment of a senior couple in Passau on Sunday. The 86-year-old husband was found seriously injured, the police said on Sunday evening in the Lower Bavarian city.
According to the status of the investigation, it cannot be ruled out that the husband killed his wife and 59-year-old son. Then he probably tried to take his own life. The 86-year-old was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. In an emergency operation, his condition was initially stabilized.
The exact course of events and the motive are therefore still unclear. The Passau criminal police took over the investigation on suspicion of a homicide.
