On Thursday evening, Heidi Klum chose “Germany’s next top model” 2022. After a few walks and a final shoot, the winner was determined.

Heidi Klum (48) presented the final edition of the 17th season of “Germany’s next top model” on Thursday evening. In fringed trousers and a glitter body, Klum himself opened the live show for the finale this time. Together with her husband Tom Kaulitz (32), she strummed the piano before singing her song “Chai Tea with Heidi”. After a long kiss for her lover, she conquered the stage. Song partner Snoop Dogg (50) and her husband’s DJ project WeddingCake provided visual support as a projection. “Sorry if it was wrong, I tried it,” said Klum after her contribution. Then this year’s candidates of the ProSieben model casting show took center stage.

Ex-candidate and backstage presenter Sophie (19) took over the moderation before Klum introduced her finalists herself: Anita (21, Neustadt an der Donau), Lou-Anne (19, Klosterneuburg) and mother Martina (50, Klosterneuburg), Luca (20, Munich) and Noëlla (25, Berlin). In the past few weeks, they have had to deal with nice, but also less nice comments, explained Klum and made it clear: “Dear critics, I have to disappoint you, we’re going to continue as before, there are beautiful women in all forms.” Another “GNTM” diversity season for 2023 is thus secured.

After the five finalists in Jeremy Scott’s (46) extravagant creations, including candlesticks or lampshades as head decorations, walked the catwalk with musical accompaniment from ESC winner Måneskin with her song “Supermodel”, the first decision was already pending: Anita had to left the show in fifth place. The top four started the second walk in colorful tulle creations by Marina Hoermanseder (36). After that, Noëlla had to say goodbye to the catwalk.

Best Agerin is eliminated shortly before the grand finale

After the walk of all candidates of the season, who presented glittering robes by Julien Macdonald (51), the last three models had an action shoot with Ellen von Unwerth (68). They had to jump in the air on a pink trampoline bed and offer as many different poses as possible. Luca and Lou-Anne then moved into the final. Martina, the first Best Agerin of a “GNTM” final, had to say goodbye shortly before the finish. The two finalists then went headlong onto the catwalk, with the models making what is probably the most unusual “GNTM” performance to date.

Then came the big decision: In the end, Lou-Anne’s “Harper’s Bazaar” cover was revealed. The winner can not only be happy about the cover. She also becomes the campaign face of Mac Cosmetics and creams off a bonus of 100,000 euros. Another candidate was already able to look forward to an award: The Personality Award 2022 for the best personality of the season went to backstage presenter Sophie.
