Travis Barker: He also has reality TV experience
From 2005 to 2006 he too was accompanied by cameras throughout his life. Bad plane crash
The tragedy of his life unfolded almost 14 years ago when Barker boarded a private plane in Columbia, South Carolina, along with his assistant, bodyguard and friend Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein on September 19, 2008. The destination was Los Angeles, but the plane didn’t make it there.
Due to a loss of pressure in the wheels, the Learjet veered off the runway and crashed into a fence, where it burst into flames. The two pilots, Barker’s assistant and his bodyguard died. Barker himself and DJ AM made it out of the machine, though not unharmed. Barker’s body was full of gasoline and caught fire. 65 percent of his skin surface was burned, the injuries so severe that he almost lost his foot. The drummer was in the hospital for eleven weeks and had to endure 27 operations.
Four people died
Little did he know at the time that no one survived except himself and DJ AM. “I always thought everyone was in the hospital, including the two pilots and also my best friends. Up until two weeks before I left, I thought everyone was in different rooms. Then I went crazy. I wasn’t in a good mood,” he said. ABC News”. “I was kind of crazy. I was suicidal,” Barker explained.
Almost a year after the tragic accident, his best friend DJ AM died of a drug overdose. Barker was also struggling with his drug addiction before the crash, apparently even affecting the anesthesia in the hospital, so that he regained consciousness several times during the operations.
In interviews after the crash, Barker revealed that he had a bad feeling as soon as he entered the plane. The original plan was for his then-wife, Shanna Moakler, to fly with him, but she decided against it at the last moment because she too had a bad feeling about it.
After the plane crash, it was more than ten years before Barker boarded a plane again. He only overcame his trauma alongside Kourtney Kardashian. “Everything is possible with you,” he wrote for a photo of himself and the entrepreneur in front of a private jet. Their relationship grew out of a friendship. Kardashian and Barker were neighbors for years, and their children played together regularly. Until the platonic connection became more.
