Shakira (45) and Gerard Piqué (35) end their relationship. “We regret to have to confirm that we are separating,” said the Colombian singer and the Spanish soccer star in a statement, as reported by the sports newspaper “Marca”, among others. “For the sake of our children, who are our top priority,” the two stars ask for privacy.

The singer also tweeted that she was recently spotted in an ambulance in Barcelona. Many worried messages would have reached them. The photos that were distributed came from last weekend. Her father had a bad fall and she accompanied him to the hospital, where he is currently recovering.
In the past few days there had already been speculation and corresponding media reports that Shakira and Piqué’s relationship was probably about to end. The couple met while filming the music video for their song ‘Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)’, the official song of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
