From June to August, citizens can use all regional trains and transport associations in Germany for 9 euros a month. It is part of the traffic light coalition’s relief package. The cost of fuel had risen sharply due to the war in Ukraine. The government wants to offer an incentive to encourage the population to switch more to local transport.
