Oprah Winfrey (68) mourns the loss of her father Vernon (1933-2022). As the US television legend announced on his Instagram account on Saturday, he died on Friday at the age of 88. “Less than a week ago we honored my father in his backyard,” Winfrey said. A gospel singer performed and Winfrey’s father “felt love and reveled in it until he could no longer speak”.
“Yesterday, surrounded by my family by his bedside, I had the privilege of watching the man responsible for my life draw his last breath,” Oprah Winfrey continued. “We could feel peace taking over the space as he left.”
