Without fanfare, and despite the convictions, resigned from western countries, the two Republics autoproclamées of Donetsk and Luhansk (DNR and NRL), located in the mining basin of Donbass have elected their leaders Sunday. A poll deemed “illegitimate” by the european Union and Washington, and supposed to strengthen the stranglehold of Moscow over these separatist territories of South-eastern ukraine. The first results will be released only on Monday morning but the principal names of the winners were already announced, the day before on the social networks.

Luhansk, apart from the few mps appointed, it should be Leonid Pasechnik, 48 years old, ex-head of the Ukrainian security service at the time when Kiev controlled these territories. In Donetsk, Denis Pouchiline, 37 years old, ex-negotiator for the peace process of Minsk, is the overwhelming favorite.
