Traffic Delays in Auckland due to Motorway Crashes
A recent series of crashes on Auckland’s Southwestern Motorway has resulted in significant delays for commuters. The first incident occurred in the southbound lane near Hillsborough at 6:30 am, involving multiple vehicles and blocking two right-hand lanes. Shortly after, a second crash occurred in the right northbound lane prior to the Hillsborough Rd off-ramp.
Although the lanes have since been cleared, NZTA/ Waka Kotahi has issued a warning that delays are expected to persist. Fortunately, police have reported that there were no injuries resulting from the crashes at this time.
